Mud Pies

Cassidy and Cade have spent HOURS everyday this week in our backyard. They, with help from Yoda (our dog), dug a 2 foot deep hole. Everyday they have been filling it with water and Cade calls it his "Sprinkler Bath". They have been taking multiple baths a day to keep up with the mud baths. The hole is now more like a bog- how fun to be a kid!

Luke's Face This Week

It's been a rough week for Luke. He still seems to think Mommy is going to take off and leave again at any moment. Hopefully Halloween will curb his mood back to normal next week!

The Dress Is Finished!!!

We've spent a total of 23 hours on this dress- plus shopping for supplies, etc. I helped one of my piano students, Analisha Black, sew her Fairy Halloween costume. We are so glad it is finally finished! And JUST IN TIME! She has a costume party tomorrow! This is the version without the wings and a few accessories. It was quite the project to finish in one week- but we did it! So, here she is (with my kids jumping in the picture, of course)!

Silly Boys

Luke just loves Cade. Sometimes he just goes over and LAYS on him trying his best to get a hug. Here is a sideways version. They were having a lot of fun with this cat mask. One of Cade's favorite things is to pretend he is a cat- so this is right up his alley!

Chocolate dipped bananas

Cade and Cassidy really got into their chocolate dipped bananas and strawberries we made for dessert tonight!

Popcorn popping

on the apricot tree- or should we say in Cade's ear?! This week I was holding him and caught a glimpse of something strange in Cade's ear. I got a flashlight and looked a little closer and said, "That looks like POPCORN in his ear!" But since it's been weeks since we've had popcorn- I was worried it was something else, potentially really yucky! So, I took him into the doctor- and sure enough- it was a piece of popcorn!! We're still not sure how it got there- maybe lying down while eating and watching a movie and popcorn got stuck in there- who knows!! But what a great story for his baby book!

A famous haircut

Last month I put together a women's retreat for one of our RS Enrichment Activities. We were supposed to go on a houseboat overnight- but it ended up raining! So, the morning of the retreat my friend called and said she had found a cabin for us to have it at instead! We were so relieved. One of the guest speakers we had lined up is a famous hairdresser. He does model's hair for the runway shoots and goes around the country teaching other hairdresser the latest styles and techniques in cutting and coloring. Amazingly, he is a member of our stake and has a salon in the next town over. Part of his demo was to draw a name out of a hat and cut that person's hair while he gave a class on self esteem. I was the lucky winner! It was a little awkward having everyone staring at me for an hour- but it was an adventure and really fun! I can't quite figure out how to style it the way he does- but he did a great job! Hopefully he'll be able to squeeze me in, now that we've met!!!
